In the tomato farms of Mahra Village – living my childhood days again

Back in my childhood, the farms used to be our picnic spot for holidays. My maternal uncles had farming land in the outskirt of the village and a part of the family used to live there. They would take care of the land and agriculture. It has been a gift of nature for me that I have enjoyed a part of my life where I got to eat fresh food, from milk to vegetables grown in our farms. Though I never got to see the entire process of ploughing, cultivation and harvesting but I remember a part of it. I remember going there and spending some time in the lap of nature. That used to happen at least once a month either on foot or by a camel cart. That was fun. Travelling to this place brought me those memories back again. Coming to tomato farms of Mahra village was an incredible journey. Mahra villag...

Western Group of Temples Khajuraho – In the land of mysteries and architectural wonders

I was lost in the vibes of Khajuraho. All I wanted to do was to just be there for longer and wander like a nomad, roaming like there is no world around me. Just me and some stunning architectural pieces of wonders. It wasn’t all about the temples but I was more astonished to understand how these monuments were actually shaped back then without having any sort of modern technology. Though I have been a rationalist but there was something intriguing about these temples. Every moment I spent there at Western Group of Temples Khajuraho, the only question I had in my mind was how… Not all the questions can be answered and one has to travel a lot to seek answers to such questions. Such questions always make me stay awake in awe and push the archaeologist and the geologist out of me. https://www...

Wandering for food in Khajuraho – Lost in the Town of Temples

Food is an integral part of any journey, no matter if it just for a day or few hours. And when you are visiting a new place, a place away from your place then it is mandatory to taste the cuisine of that place. No journey is complete without tasting and dining at the place you are traveling to. While I was in Khajuraho, I too looked for food around. But globalization has actually ruined everything. I didn’t find any local, true authentic food place. There were fancy, romantic themed restaurant. Well, globalization is not at blame for it all but I was actually expecting something really indigenous. I mean paratha, sandwich, noodles etc. are everywhere. That’s why I was looking for authentic food in Khajuraho and finally I decided that I would come someday else with just the agenda of explor...
