I have heard the nights in the hills are incredible. If you want to watch our galaxy full of twinkling tiny stars, you should visit the hills. One reason is because of less pollution. Metro cities are polluted so it is really hard to see starry nights. While I was in Shimla on my weekend trip in December 2019, when the year was about to end, I experienced such a beautiful night. A night which was what I had been missing all, a night which I had not seen for a long time, it was a night in Shimla full of awe-inspiring stargazing moments.
When I reached Shimla in the early morning and got disappointed to see no snow, I thought my weekend trip to Shimla came to a disappointing phase and I went through all the day with this life. But when the night kissed Shimla and it was all dark, that feeling of disappointment somehow left me and I was left surprised to see the beauty of the city in the dark. The city looked like a mannequin adorned with lots of jewelry and shiny diamonds. It was a little bit chilly considering it was the December month yet the warmth of a night in Shimla kept my blood running warmly through my body and kept the motor running.

It was crowded and it was chaotic. I could see the crowd everywhere. The cafes, restaurants, coffee shops and other eateries around the Mall road were all crowded. I tried to visit a few of the restaurants and cafes but all of them were packed with the visitors. At some places, I was asked to wait for some time and even after waiting for a while, it didn’t make a difference so I had to leave. Spending some moments at night this is truly a marvelous experience that I barely get to live. Such nights aren’t much visible in metro cities due to lots of pollution.

I often tend to travel to such locations where I can spend some moments in silence, serenity where I can seek peace. Though I didn’t’ find peace here since it was year-end and the place was already crowded but lots of people like me and that’s why the next day, I moved to Kasauli from Shimla. However, I somewhat was able to appreciate the night in Shimla I got to witness.
Christ church was decorated with lights and it looked incredibly beautiful from the distance. So, I headed towards it. The ground was full of hustle-bustle. People having their moments captured in phones and cameras and trying every possible shot to create their memories. People trying to have the best moment of their life. The national flag was in its full glory. People thronged at the shops and eateries around the Ridge.
The dark of the night sprawled endless elegance over the city and made it look like some fairytale place with a veil of numerous twinkling stars, a veil which the city had put on in the night and the night shined like diamonds in the sky.
