Have you ever talked with the air? You must be thinking that I am a nerd, how can someone talk with the air? But if you are a 90s kid and love Aryans, then you must know the song Ye hawa kahati hae kya sun to meri jana, meri jana… One of the most beautiful things a guy who is tired of city life can do is to go somewhere away from the materialist world and find solace in the lap of nature. And that’s what I did. I ran away from Delhi and spent some time, took a nap in the lap of nature. I wonder why we are running behind the materialistic world while the peace lies in nature. I have had the best moments of my life there. I tell you whenever I hear the word “let us go somewhere’, the very first picture that my mind imagines is somewhere into the jungle, a place surrounded by mountains, alpine trees, cacophony, etc. For me, this is the best place to go and travel. Yes, not everyone would want to do this but I was a solo traveler, always dream myself trekking somewhere so sleeping in a camp in the jungle. Well, I recently did a trip to Triund and did both trekking and camping at Triund top. I started trekking from McLeod Ganj and reached Triund. My first time camping at Triund was an awesome experience that will always be treasured in my mind forever. Sleeping in a tent at a totally unknown place surrounded by hills and trees is really a wonderful experience to live in. I have had this in my mind since the beginning and finally, I reached there and made it happen at Triund.
Truly Awe-Inspiring Experience – My First Time Camping at Triund
I have never done camping like this before. I was alone there and had no plans. When I reached the top after trekking, I realized that there I needed a camp that I didn’t have. Thus, I visited a café and the guy, Sunny, asked me if I needed a camp. I needed to take a rest actually. Such a wonderful time it was. The last night, I slept in a beautiful hotel room with all amenities including a washroom, LED, AC, and a balcony with jaw-dropping view. And here, I got myself a small tent for a single person, smaller than my height and that’s it. My first time camping at Triund taught me to adjust to the room I had there. There were 4 in the row and mine was the third one from the starting. The view was breathtaking. My camera and phone were running out of battery and there was no backup.
I found life was so beautiful there. It was as beautiful as the first bloom of monsoon. And the air was fresh, it was pure. The enchanting environment filled me with new life and new energy. The first time camping experience at Triund top turned out to be among the best traveling experiences so far. However, I wasn’t prepared at all for this, but still, sometimes, things which you don’t prepare; turn out to be far better than the things you prepare prior.
I saw the cattle grazing. The grass was green and shining. There was a dog. Perhaps it has got used to with the travelers. Calm and beautiful, I played with this fur animal and it didn’t say anything. Such a lovely connection. I saw the birds flying in the sky, with no fear. They must have this thought in their mind that the sky belongs to them entirely. There’re many lessons I got to learn from the experience of my first time camping at Triund.
Bonfire at Triund – Mesmerizing Beauty of Moon – First Time Camping Experience at Triund
Bonfire! This word is a story in itself. This word brings endless memories. If you haven’t done this before, you probably should be imagining some movie scenes where a group of college friends goes for jungle camping, and in the night, all gather around the bonfire and the lead character sings a song for her girl. This isn’t filmy anymore. There was a bonfire next to my tent. There were monks sitting around it. However, I still have the fantasy of the scene from Lovestory by Anurag Basu where this song ‘Teri Yaadein’ presents the bonfire and music. This song at Triund top or maybe in Kasol is really a fantasy for me. With my experience of first time camping at Triund, the bonfire at Triund was also my first time experience. I haven’t done this before. Though in childhood, we would sit around hearth or alaaw and would sing songs but bonfire in the jungle or hilltop is such an incredible experience.
In dinner, we were served Daal Rice. I tell you no matter you love it or not, but yes, there is a different charm of having this meal in the starlit night at such height at Triund top. The delicious daal rice gave me some energy to keep my body activities on track. I get to taste new cuisines whenever I travel to some other place.
It started to get a little colder. I could see people wearing jackets. Well, I hardly put on jackets. I looked up at the sky. It was dark. It was glittering. It was full of stars, shining like diamonds of a necklace. And the moon just captivated my heart for a long. I took out my camera and started clicking. I love moon shots and whenever I see the moon and if I have a camera around, I just click it. I took several shots here too. There is great enjoyment in traveling. It gives you several memories to cherish. And I had loads of memories during my Triund trip.
Standing there at the top, I got breathtaking views of Dharamkot village down there. The house lights decorated the village and it looked wonderful. I could stand here whole the night and keep watching at this. My first time camping at Triund was a life lesson, taught me several things, considering it was my first time here and I had no knowledge of camping and staying there. Some moments of your life are always your favorite, Triund camping is one of such experiences. Though it is just the beginning and the road is all open for me, there will be more journeys on it. Before, I could close my eyes, here’s what kept me awake,
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
