8:00 AM – Start Your Journey from Bir
Kick off your day with a wholesome breakfast in Bir, then set off for the waterfall. Depending on your preference, there are several options for reaching the waterfall:
- By Cab: Hire a local cab from Bir to the designated parking area near the waterfall. The drive takes approximately 15-20 minutes, covering a distance of 5.8 km.
- By Scooty Rental: Rent a scooty from one of the local shops in Bir. The rental costs usually range from INR 500-600 for a full day. The ride will take about 20 minutes, offering flexibility and a chance to explore more of the area at your own pace.
- By Hitchhiking: For the more adventurous traveler, you can hitchhike to the parking area. Simply head toward the Billing road and wait for a passing vehicle going towards the waterfall.
9:00 AM – Reach the Parking Area & Book a Guide
Once you reach the parking area near the waterfall, you’ll need to book a local guide. The path to the waterfall involves navigating over rocky terrain and steep sections, which can be challenging without help. Guides are available at the parking spot, and they will assist you in climbing over boulders and navigating the tricky path to the waterfall. The guide’s assistance is crucial to ensure safety as they will help you through difficult spots, sometimes even supporting you physically across larger boulders.
- Guide Cost: Expect to pay a fee of around INR 500 for the guide service.
10:00 AM – Enjoy the Waterfall
After about 15-20 minutes of walking with the help of your guide, you’ll arrive at the breathtaking Bangoru Waterfall. The sight of water cascading down the cliffs, surrounded by lush greenery and jagged rocks, is absolutely mesmerizing. Spend time soaking in the view, taking photos, and enjoying the serene atmosphere of the crystal-clear pond that forms at the base of the waterfall.
12:00 PM – Head Back to Bir
Once you’ve explored the waterfall and enjoyed its beauty, follow your guide back to the parking area. The return journey is easier, but still requires some careful navigation. You can take the same transport options (taxi, scooty, or hitchhiking) to return to Bir.
